Dr. Noah Kass, DSW, LCSW, is a leader in the field of hypnosis, with specialties in habits, addictions, anxiety and depression. He helps clients re-examine patterns in their lives that hold them back, while assisting them in managing their emotions and exploring their practiced resistances. He is an esteemed Psychotherapist who is licensed in the state of New York who has developed a specialized treatments combining hypnosis with his extensive training from the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies and the Albert Ellis Institute in CBT and Rational-Emotive Therapy.

Academic Training
Believing genuine personal growth is best achieved through an honest, collaborative exchange, Dr. Noah Kass, DSW, LCSW, creates an environment that is focused on the unique needs of each client. He works in a dynamic way—always curious and engaged, approaching the client’s needs with an empathetic and focused ear. He employs cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic theories/techniques to help clients maximize their potential for happiness and success.
    Dr. Kass is a psychotherapist for adolescents, adults, couples and families affected by depression and anxiety problems, addictive disorders, communication issues and personal/professional stressors. His comprehensive interest in human behavior began at Emerson College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in fine arts. He continued his education receiving dual degrees from New York University; a Master’s of Arts in Education and a Master of Social Work degrees.
    Dr. Kass completed his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice, where he received the prestigious Dr. Ram Cnaan award for meritorious achievement. His clinical interests in addiction treatment led him to write his dissertation, titled “The Philosophies and Practices of Alcoholics Anonymous from a Psychodynamic Perspective.”

For three and a half years, Dr. Kass was the clinical director of Realization Center, New York City’s largest addiction outpatient treatment center. In addition, he was the clinical director of The Dunes East Hampton, a private inpatient treatment center on Long Island, New York. He also spent three years working as a psychotherapist at Services for the Underserved, a mental health wellness program in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
   Dr. Kass has taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Touro College in their Master of Social Work programs. He was a biweekly guest on a nationally syndicated news show (The Dylan Ratigan Show on MSNBC), as well as a weekly columnist for and The Huffington Post.
   Dr. Kass is devoted to continued studies, and he has certificates from both the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies and the Albert Ellis Institute in CBT and Rational-Emotive Therapy. He also has completed NYU’s Clinical Approaches to Addiction Treatment Certificate program and received extensive training in hypnosis under Dr. Rachel Hott and Steven Leeds, who are experts in the field of hypnosis. Dr. Kass continues to participate in ongoing trainings in hypnosis in order to be up-to-date with new research in the field, and is considered in the top of the field in using hypnosis for addictions.
